Tortrix have helped the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE) to integrate the new Microsoft Small Business Server solution, helping to improve access and resilience to their critical file storage.
Tortrix have recently started working with the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship (NCGE), providing I.T. support services following their recent relocation to the Coventry University Technology Park. One of the first areas of improvement we identified was the need for a server. NCGE have six employees some of which are remote workers. They have a managed Microsoft Exchange server which is more than adequate for their needs, so they required a central file store with remote access, centralised security management and a reliable backup mechanism.
Microsoft had just launched Microsoft Small Business Server Essentials 2011, which provides all the needed functions at a very reasonable cost. Providing file services including desktop PC backup to server for up to 25 users at a single licence cost of approx £250.
Benefits to users of Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essential include:
- Daily automatic backups of clients and servers
- Affordable and easy to deploy, use, and maintain
- Ability to organize and access files from virtually anywhere
- Effortlessly connect to online services in order to expand capabilities
