George Eliot Hospital
Tortrix partners with George Eliot Hospital in the development and utilisation of our suite of eCare software solutions. Currently both the Inpatient Discharge Summary and the Saving Lives Audit are in use at the George Eliot Hospital, demonstrating the effectiveness of software applications in producing accurate, efficient and cost-effective solutions.
The eCare Inpatient Discharge Summary is a software application allowing clinicians to record details of a patient’s diagnosis, treatment, and recommend prescribed drug management following discharge. The application records information in real time, allowing healthcare professionals to access and record patient information throughout treatment. This is presented in a succinct summary which is kept in hospital records and sent to the GP allowing concise communication of essential medical details for follow-up treatment.
The eCare Saving Lives Audit Tool is designed to consolidate data relating to infection control guidelines in a hospital ward environment. The application allows reporting of patient observations to be monitored and managed more easily. It permits members of staff to input completed observations and generates accessible graphs and images to display information for reporting and reviewing progress in an easy-to-read format.
More projects are under development, with the Tissue Viability Care Management application due to be completed and implemented in the second quarter of 2010. With the success these applications have had at George Eliot Hospital, the software can be easily adapted and customised for use in other NHS trusts.
