Activity Day at the Wellcome Collection, London, 30 July 2010

July 26, 2010

As part of the Wellcome Collection's major exhibition on Skin, (a re-evaluation of what is technically the largest human organ), which runs until 26 September 2010, the museum is throwing open its doors for a free event on Friday 30 July.

Getting Under Your Skin will allow visitors to

  • look at skin under different microscopes.
  • paint bones, veins and muscles onto their skin with the help of an artist.
  • learn about surgical techniques used on the skin under the direction of Rhian Solomon.
  • Contribute to the design of a sculpture with the theme of tattoos.

Visitors can also visit the main exhibition on Skin (open 10.00 to 18.00).

The Museum is located at 183 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE.
